On July 6th 2017, Mark Reinfeld was inducted into the North American Vegetarian Society’s Vegetarian Hall of Fame for his decades of work in the field of food activism. Seed Food & Wine
Mark was honored to participate as a featured chef in Miami’s first Annual Seed Food & Wine Festival in October, 2014.
The Seed Festival, modeled on the renowned and long-running South Beach Wine & Food Festival, provided a plethora of events featuring celebrity chefs, fine wines, craft beers, gourmet cuisine, and more celebrities: all plant-based. It consisted of five days of events, including upscale dinners, garden parties, a Southern-style brunch, a film screening, and a large-scale outdoor festival. Mark served as co-chef for the brunch with Amber Antonelli of the Naked Bite.
The event was founded after the organizers realized the lack of education surrounding plant-based diets. While part of the inspiration for Seed stemmed from a desire to raise consciousness and introduce Miami residents to a more healthful lifestyle, the founders also wanted to demonstrate that vegan dishes can be just as sophisticated and palate-pleasing as non-vegan recipes. The brunch proved to be no exception!

Mark Reinfeld is the winner of Vegan.com’s Recipe of the Year Award for 2011 and has over 20 years experience preparing creative vegan and raw food cuisine. Mark has been the Executive Chef for the North American Vegetarian Society’s Summerfest, one of the largest vegetarian conferences in the world, for the past three years. He is the founding chef of the Blossoming Lotus Restaurant. Mark is also the recipient of a Platinum Carrot Award for living foods – a national award given by the Aspen Center of Integral Health to America’s top “innovative and trailblazing healthy chefs”. Mark received his initial culinary training from his grandfather Ben Bimstein, a renowned chef and ice carver in New York City.
